How to Be Socially Efficient

There is an old cliche’ that says that you will ultimately become the company that you keep. This cliche’ has been used for years by parents, teachers, coaches, mentors, and life coaches. Yet, for some reason our lives are extremely inefficient in this particular area. If you want to get where you want to go in life, you are going to need to surround yourself with people that can help you get there. Continue reading below for 3 ways to make your life socially efficient.

1. CLEAN UP YOUR FRIENDS LIST

This is number one on the list and for good reason. Many people have way too many friends on their social media accounts. Whether they be people you knew in high school, someone you met that one time at the bar, or someone you added to your friends list because you thought they were cute, you need to delete the people you don’t talk to. Research has shown that you can truly get to know about 250 people really well before you begin to have meaningless connections. Do you really want these meaningless people cluttering up your newsfeed?

2. CUT OFF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE DRAINING YOUR RESOURCES

A big part of our human nature is the will and desire to help fellow humans. Unfortunately, not everyone deserves or appreciates our help. It is no secret that when everything is going great, you will have many people around you. The key here is to find the people that will be with you when things get hard, because things will eventually get hard. The easiest way to identify the people who will jump ship when things get tough is to identify the people around you who don’t bring anything to the table. When it comes to friends, it’s all about quality not quantity.

3. FIND OUT WHERE PEOPLE WHO ARE WHERE YOU WANT TO BE ARE

This point really makes sense doesn’t it? If you become the people you surround yourself with, why wouldn’t you have people around you that are where you want to be? For many people the reason they don’t do this is because they aren’t in a position to meet these people. With the exception of a few superstars, do you really think you’re going to meet millionaires in a club downtown? Of course not! You’re going to meet a bunch of other people who are just like you. If the people you want to meet aren’t going to be where you are going, why are you going?

When we aren’t socially efficient, it becomes impossible for us to live UNreduced as there is just too much clutter weighing us down. I encourage you to try these 3 things to become socially efficient and I am confident you will feel like a weight has been lifted! I’d love to hear your feedback in the comments below but right after, get out there and live UNreduced!
